The Tea on My Clean Beauty Skincare Routine at 53 and how my skin is always glowing…
In my early 40s, with the arrival of perimenopause, my skin became more sensitive and started to show aging signs like sun damage, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and dullness. I also had a major reaction to allllll of my skincare products, and had to change up my skincare routine. I dove in and researched ingredients that were not only all natural - so they wouldn’t make my skin react - but effective. Because who wants to spend money on skincare that doesn’t work??
I found 2 brands that were not only clean beauty but highly effective; I started using them around 6 years ago and today they are my go-to products: organic clean beauty skincare from @mayachia and @muktiOrganics.
I love Maya Chia because all of its products are based on chia seed oil, which is the most potent plant oil on the market in terms of anti-oxidants, nutrients and actives that work to increase collagen production, reduce fine lines, plump your skin, get rid of hyperpigmentation, dullness and leave you with lively, hydrated, glowing skin. Chia seed oil is incredibly hydrating for mature, older skin like mine.
I also really like @Mukti. They are based out of Australia and source their ingredients locally, so their products are rich in potent bio-actives and wild plant extracts that are highly efficacious. It's my personal opinion: plant life and flora are different in Australia from other places in the world, and some of these plants are highly efficacious in ways that other plants aren't. There's also the biological and chemical differences and integrity of their soil to take into account. Mukti makes products that work to hydrate and nourish extremely dry skin, while also boosting collagen production - everything skin like mine needs.
Here’s my daytime clean beauty skincare regimen:
Cleanser: Maya Chia’s cleansing oil - I use this because it does a fantastic job of taking off the sweat and grime on my skin but not stripping my skin. It leaves my face cleansed and hydrated.
Toner: Maya Chia’s The Optimist or Mukti’s Rose Blossom Hydrating Mist. Both are phenomenal and I love them equally.
Hyaluronic: Mukti’s Marine Serum. This is astonishingly good. Mukti sources from potent seaweed and plant bioactives that are so hydrating and help to lock in moisture.
For Brightness: Maya Chia’s The Super Life Vitamin C. This is a phenomenal product in terms of its active vitamin C and Niacinimide, to reduce hyperpigmentation. This is a hero product for me and I never skip a day.
HydratingSerum: Maya Chia’s The Super Couple. I love this product also, because it contains Chia seed oil which is so hydrating and nourishing for my skin, as well as asthaxanthin, which is another incredible nutrient that helps to minimize fine lines, bring back lustre to the skin and hydrate.
Moisturizer: Mukti’s Marigold Hydrating Creme. I adore this cream, it's so hydrating and it goes on matte, so your skin is the perfect canvas for your makeup.
Sunscreen: Solara’s guardian angel spf50 non nano zinc oxide. I am really picky about my sunscreen and only use non-nano zinc oxide. This product is white but absorbs instantly and doesn't give you a white tint. This is a favorite of mine.
Eye cream: Mukti’s Age Defiance Eye Serum or Maya Chia’s The Eye Achiever. Both are exceptional at minimizing fine lines and keeping my eye area hydrated all day so I don't develop "crusties" and if you're over 50, you know what I mean.
