Get Ready for Fall — How to Reset Naturally 🌿

Sep 01, 2025

September 2025 Edition

by Juliana Spaven

Hi beautiful!

It seems like just yesterday we were complaining about the heat, but it's September and some cooler weather has arrived, and with Labor Day behind us: we're at summer's end. September always feels like a reset — the air turns crisper, routines are back, and we naturally look for ways to ground ourselves after the carefree summer months.

This month’s theme: Getting Ready for Fall — is all about nourishing, grounding, and building resilience from the inside out to glow and radiate health, wellness & your inner magic.

Nutrition Focus — Seasonal Superfoods for Skin & Immunity

Fall brings in a new wave of produce that supports glowing skin and stronger immunity. Think apples (rich in quercetin), butternut squash (beta-carotene for cellular repair), grapes, figs and of course, peppers (Vitamin C for collagen synthesis and caratenoids for brightening & skin protection).

Movement Focus — Stability Drills to Stay Strong

One of my principles for aging well is movement, and key to movement is stability. I love doing stability work on my "rest" days. My 5 minute routine -  in the way of single-leg balance drills - is a great way to reinforce moves and muscle memory to help prevent falls, support strong posture, and keep joints resilient.

"Am I too old?" Oh, stop. It's never too late to build stability! Your body is resilient, you just need to try (and not quit).  I stumble all. the. time. when doing stability work. But that's how I get better: by trying. and not giving up. So try, and if you stumble, give yourself grace, and keep going. You will get better. Trust.

Sleep Focus — Couldn't Sleep? Let's Save the Day

We've all been there: despite best efforts, it's bed time and... you can't fall asleep. Or it's 2am and you can't fall back to sleep. And before you know it, it's morning and you feel positively wrecked.

My how-to-survive-the-day guide will help you mentally reset and refocus, so you're not fatigue-eating and sugar-crashing, which only spikes cortisol more, creating a vicious loop. My tips and protocols (battle-tested on myself, mind you) will help you recover and still have a good day - and set you up for a better night’s rest, tonight.

Got a bad night's sleep? Here's how to not ruin your day

Clean Beauty Focus — Seasonal Skincare, Easy Glam

Fall often means cooler temps and drier air - which can mean skin changes (dullness, itchy or rough patches, redness, breakouts). This is a great time to switch from lighterweight summer formulas to richer, barrier-supporting formulations. It's also a great time to up your skin hydration game.

Take LILFOX, a quirky skincare brand that's gained a cult following among clean beauty diehards for its innvoative formulas that blend biotech with botanicals for stellar performance. I've been trying out their newest formulation, Drippy Cocoon, and the hype might be real.

It's replaced my hyaluronic serum because it brings hydration that lasts all day - despite changing temperatures and drier skin. That end-of-the-day tight feeling? Gone. Midday dullness? Poof.

Drippy Cocoon is this month's Hero Discovery at Beauty Heroes ($170), and they're also featuring Tomato Milk, a nourishing milk cleanser that takes off all your makeup and  impurities while it exfoliates, hydrates, and resets the skin’s microbiome. This $265 value is yours for $58 until they sell out (and they will).

ICYMI: Easy, no-fuss makeup that's clean and makes you a glamourous head-turner? It's got to be Gen See Beauty. My 5-minute low-maintenance, high-glam look is so easy to wear, lasts all day and gives major glam-girl vibes.

Facial Exercise of the Month — The Platysma Stretch

As routines shift, stress and tension often creeps into the jaw and neck area. But a great way to combat that: a fabulous platysma muscle stretch:

  1. Sit upright. Cross hands over chest and press down gently.

  2. Tilt head up and to a side. Hold, for up to 2 minutes. Feel the stretch in your jaw and neck.

  3. Once the muscle softens, move to another tight spot and hold, releasing only after it relaxes. Then move on.

  4. Finish with shoulder rolls and feel the tension leaving your body - it's amazing! You can also do it with me: 👇

Bonus:  — My Favorite Coleslaw Recipe 🥬

ICYMI: I recently did a reel about how green cabbage is a beauty superfood and how my homemade coleslaw (with homemade, healthy mayo!) is one of my family's favorites and a go-to recipes for beauty and gut health. It’s crunchy, creamy, and full of Vitamin C and fiber. Well, a few of you loved it.
